While judging a record by its cover is generally a risky strategy, it's the best place to start with this debut. Featuring demonic polar bears and a Delorean, the artwork is bombastic, and redolent of a different age. Formed by the Norwegian duo of Andreas Stenseth and Trond Nicolaisen (who intriguingly writes much of the music, but doesn't actually appear in an instrumental capacity) the project plays host to an impressive extended cast of musicians, everyone from Charlie Zeleny (Behold The Arctopus) to Michael Kiske (Avantasia) making a contribution to this celebration of classic, rifftastic '80s metal. It's wonderfully authentic-sounding stuff made with evident love and reverence for the craft.
